In December 1 “PVC. Results of the year-2015”, the Thirteenth International Conference was held at the hotel “Baltschug Kempinski Moscow”.
All concerned market players were invited to discuss the condition of PVC market and its development prospects.
Will domestic enterprises be able to compete with imports on the price? How will the structure of the internal market change in this regard? To whom will the processors give preference to? These were the key issues of the PVC conference which gathered the representatives of all industry players: producers; core processors providing up to 80% of the total demand for PVC resin in Russia; trading and distributing, investment and engineering companies.
This annual event was joined by the representatives of “DPO “Plastik”: Evgeny Moiseev, Head of Packaging Materials Sales Department, and Denis Dikin, Sales and Marketing Director, who presented rigid PVC films market survey to the participants of the conference.
At the end of 2014 the consumption of this product in Russia amounted to 42 thousand tons, about 60% of which was provided by domestic producers, and the rest was satisfied by imports. In 2015, consumption is expected to decline to 37 thousand tons, while the ratio of imports and production of the Russian producers will remain roughly the same.
According to our expert, during the period up to 2020 stagnation is foreseen on the rigid PVC films market due to the growth of substituting materials, such as PET, PS, and PP.
The main application segment of rigid films in Russia is food packaging (25%), followed by lining of furniture facades (22%) and packing of drug substances (19%).
The report made it possible for participants of the conference to evaluate the current condition of the rigid PVC films market, become familiar with its pricing structure and development trends, as well as growth forecasts for PVC films.
